HISTORY
The Edinburgh-based team, which dates its motorsport routes back 50 years in 2022, were front-runners of the Ferrari Challenge Europe and British GT Championship across the last two decades, with multiple race wins courtesy of the iconic pairing of team owner Hector Lester and the late Allan Simonsen, plus dedicated Ferrari engineer, John Buchan with amazing catering from Yvonne Preston, whom sadly passed on recently.
Rossoverde Racing has also provided opportunities for some highly respected names in the past including the formative Formula Ford career of 1999 F1 Championship runner-up Eddie Irvine, BTCC ace Gordon Shedden, and a cameo outing for Boyzone star Shane Lynch as well as Late Allan Simonsens's brother, Benny Simonsen.

The team’s existence dates back to 1972, starting out in Formula Ford 1600, towed with an old car and trailer to cut costs, then branching off into sports car racing with the Ferrari Challenge in a bigger more corporate way.

Entries into British GT followed in 2003 before a move into European GT3 in 2006, winning the first ever GT3 event at Silverstone. Further international action came as the team expanded into Australian GT, winning the Australian Grand Prix support race in 2008 twice, two years in a row, the Bathurst 12 Hours with an overall fifth place & class win, and participation in the Spa 24 Hours partnering with VODKA, whilst almost claiming the British GT title in 2009. The team went on to span years of competition in the British GT Championship with the duo pairing.

Regrouping after the sad loss of Allan Simonsen at Le Mans in 2013, the team reappeared in British GT the following year with the Great Dane’s brother, Benny Simonsen alongside Lester, while also continuing efforts in Australian GT and the Ferrari Challenge.
The team moved back to single-seater routes with entries in the British Formula 4 and Australian Formula 4 taking a best result of 2nd with team owner Hector's Son, Christian Lester. In 2022 the team have joined the GB4 championship with intent to compete as a two car team for 2023 running also up to two entries in GB3 or Formula Regional.
